A state-of-the-art headquarters with all the bells and whistles requires the A-team. That’s exactly what Imperial got with the architects and interior designers assembled to design and document this oil and gas 5-buildling complex in Calgary. The team’s working dynamic was so effective, that other teams studied us to discover our ‘secret sauce’ and try to replicate our success.
Our team of five collaborated as two core units in Houston: the workplace team and the ancillary team. As the project architect over both teams, Brinn ensured coordination and continuity internally and with the architect of record in Canada. This once-in-a-lifetime project consisted of twenty-five office office floors over five buildings. It also has a conference center, dining hall, fitness facility, credit union, mail distribution, parking garage, and grab-and-go cafes. Inspired by the five regions of Canada, the materials, colors and graphics all tie into one of the five buildings connected by ‘the pipeline’: a multi-level promenade for pedestrians that link the buildings together.
Executed over a period of years, this multi-phased project was simultaneously in design, documentation, construction and occupancy at any given time.
